Kourou Fia
Issu d’une grande lignée de griots guinéens, et membre du groupe Ba Cissoko depuis sa création en 1999, Kourou Fia a collaboré avec de nombreux artistes majeurs tels que Ray Lema, Tiken Jah Fakoly, Elvin Jones, Amadou & Mariam, Jean-Philippe Rykiel ou encore Flavia Coelho, affirmant une identité musicale ouverte et profondément ancrée dans le dialogue interculturel.
Avec COKORA, Kourou Fia livre un second album profondément personnel, où la kora devient une parole fluide, affranchie des limites du langage. Porté par une fusion subtile entre musiques africaines, flamenco et jazz, cet opus raconte la transmission, la résilience et le passage d’un héritage ancien vers une expression contemporaine et universelle.
Coming from a long line of Guinean griots and a member of the group Ba Cissoko since its founding in 1999, Kourou Fia has collaborated with numerous major artists such as Ray Lema, Tiken Jah Fakoly, Elvin Jones, Amadou & Mariam, Jean-Philippe Rykiel, and Flavia Coelho, asserting a musical identity that is open and deeply rooted in intercultural dialogue.
With COKORA, Kourou Fia delivers a deeply personal second album, where the kora becomes a fluid voice, freed from the limits of language. Driven by a subtle fusion of African music, flamenco, and jazz, this album tells a story of transmission, resilience, and the transition from an ancient heritage to a contemporary and universal expression.
